As a potter, I let my heart lead the way. Each piece I create is a reflection of emotion, intuition, and a deep connection to the natural world. I find inspiration in the quiet beauty of leaves, stones, water, and earth—elements that often find their way into my work, whether through texture, form, or spirit. My process is organic and fluid, guided more by feeling than formula, allowing each vessel or sculpture to evolve with its own story. Through clay, I seek to honor nature’s simplicity and complexity, and to share a sense of calm, wonder, and grounding with those who hold or view my work. I mainly create on a wheel but also do some hand building.

During the art tour I will be in my studio creating art as time allows for those that wish to see a demonstration, I will be set up and ready to perform.

I am inspired by traveling the world, far and near, experiencing culture and incredible natural wonders with curiosity and a beginner’s mind. I am always in awe of the beauty and variety in these adventures. The variety and mystery in life fuels me to keep going and keep creating. I think that feeling of being connected and in the flow of life is what inspires the creativity expressed in my creations. Jewelry is a unique medium in that it is wearable art and is made from precious natural materials. The wearer is able to carry and connect with that natural beauty as a reminder to the magic and mystery in this world, serving as a personal source of inspiration, curiosity, and empowerment.

Inspired by the beauty of southern Wisconsin, Patty creates custom jewelry that flows naturally from her hands as she observes life unfolding outside her studio window. Her passion for jewelry making began in high school under the guidance of a 3D art teacher and has since evolved into a craft rooted in creativity and sustainability.
Patty specializes in repurposing old jewelry, transforming cherished pieces into designs that suit her clients today. Working primarily with silver and gold, she incorporates unique precious and semi-precious gems, favoring opals, fossils, and rare stones sourced by a lapidary friend.
Bringing ideas to life through her craftsmanship, Patty finds joy in creating meaningful, lasting jewelry that can be treasured for years to come.

I grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania where making things work with what you had was the norm. After high school, I joined the Marine Corps. Since then I’ve worked in various endeavors from building bamboo bikes, real estate, managing commercial solar energy projects, and finally woodworking and renovation. When I left my career in solar energy to start woodworking and remodeling, I was driven by a desire to work with people on more creative, sustainable solutions for their living spaces. Whether a built in, furniture commission, or oddly shaped room, I love the challenge and reward of building unique solutions that support the way people want to live. I am committed to using sustainable practices wherever possible, including local wood sourcing, sustainable materials, low-waste practices, and supporting energy-efficient build-outs.

During the tour, Philip will be working on a current piece and answering questions about it. He will also be talking about rammed earth, hempcrete, and other alternative building methods and how he incorporates them into furniture.
Tourists can reach my shop via Rainbow Road off of JG. It’s a large green/brown pole barn that’s within sight of the road. Parking is out front and the doors will be open. The building is at the back of the property in a field against the woods. It’s 50′ off the road and has plenty of parking. Wheel chair/handicap accessible.

My education in art began at the Polytechnical Institute of Malta. I then earned a B.A. in art from Luther College. I then studied printmaking under Mauricio Lasansky at the University of Iowa. I was accepted into the graduate program at the UW Madison where I earned an M.A. and an M.F.A. in painting.
I believe there is much room for exploration in the continually expanding idioms for art. My current work draws on my background of painting, drawing, and printmaking, in the traditional sense, and translates those media to the computer. These pieces have become something other than paintings or hand pulled prints, although they were created using the same mental process that I go through when I set blank canvas, paper, or plate in front of me. They are called prints but they are not made with a plate and a press. They are printed with a high end giclée printer.

My art is an expression within a relevant art historical context. These series relate directly to art that has been produced through more traditional media, but they take advantage of a relatively newer technology that has characteristics of its’ own. I don’t see it as a replacement for mezzotints, lithographs, serigraphs, or engravings. I see it as a relatively new medium that became available through newer technology, just as all other media have come to exist.

I create one of a kind stainless steel chainmaille jewelry. Chainmaille is made by weaving different sized metal rings around each other to form a pattern, I then take that pattern and add different sized rings, natural stones, crystals, colored anodized aluminum rings, and/or delicate chains to make a unique statement piece. I use mostly stainless steel because it is strong, durable, hypoallergenic, will never rust, tarnish, change color, or make your skin change color. My jewelry is mix of medieval, industrial, gothic, contemporary, and punk.
I have been photographing nature for the last 30 years. I spend as much time as possible exploring the trails, waterways and natural areas to capture images that exemplify a sense of peace and tranquility. I sometimes spend hours in the same spot anticipating the perfect light. I hope that my images will help others see the beauty of nature and the need to preserve the animals and natural areas that are fundamental to our world. My subjects include landscapes, animals, waterfalls, old buildings, flowers, and anything beautiful I find on my travels. I am a lifelong Dane County resident and most of my photographs are taken in this beautiful county of Wisconsin. I received an Associates Degree in Photography from Madison Collage in 2001.

During the tour, I will demonstrate how to make several different chainmaille weaves.
