A Georgia boy and a carpenter most of my life until I retired, started welding, and it stuck. I started creating functional pieces and then expanded into abstract sculpture.

The location is a large wooded property with a 400' driveway lined with art. Guests with limited mobility may drive in and park near the exhibition. Signage will be provided. Pieces are located indoors in a large building and throughout the gardens on the property.

Andrew Linderman is a studio potter and former high school chemistry teacher. Inspired by a childhood spent outdoors, he creates functional pottery that enhances daily rituals and shared moments. Drawing on his chemistry background, he experiments with firing processes to develop rich surfaces that blend aesthetics with tactile functionality.

During the tour, Andrew will have his studio open, and will be demonstrating wheel-throwing and how he glazes, loads and fires his work.

Ample street and driveway parking. customers will need to traverse relatively flat grass.

I make my work primarily on the potters wheel, using it to produce functional objects for use in daily life. Within my work there is a tension I try to balance, between the elements I chose to control, and things I allow to occur randomly. Tightly thrown forms contrast with slip and glaze decorations where I allow the materials to have more of a say. I strive to make honest pots, where the record of the making process is evident within the finished work.

My topic of Discussion would be the Japanese influence on my work. This would include talking about my time working for the Japanese/American ceramic artist, Akira Satake, and how that time shaped my making process and aesthetic choices. I would also the Hakeme brushwork technique that i use in my work, both the practical materials and tools used, and the philosophical reasons I find the process engaging.

Jason’s work is a dialogue with the wood, allowing the natural form of the burl to lead the creative process. Rather than making a statement, he seeks to reveal the one already present in the material. Continuously refining and adjusting, he aims for each piece to feel inevitable—shaped by nature as much as by hand.

Street parking on Crescent and Cramer streets. House entry is not wheelchair accessible—three steps to the front door. If I do some adzing work demonstration that would be more or less accessible as I do that in my driveway off the back alley behind the house.

Pamela approaches painting with full physical, emotional, and spiritual engagement, responding to her subjects in real time, whether outdoors in natural light or in the studio. She begins each piece with a word—such as "love" or "quiet"—to guide her creative process. In warmer months, she paints en plein air in single sessions, while Wisconsin winters lend themselves to her more meditative grisaille technique, layering over days or weeks. She finds deep fulfillment in the connections her work fosters, believing that creativity begets creativity and meaningful conversation.

During the tour, Pamela will be demonstrating both an outdoor plein air painting somewhere in her yard or garden and a grisaille technique still life in her studio. Rain or shine, a live painting will be happening at Solace Studio!

Solace Studio is easily accessed by level street parking (without a curb) which leads into our paved level driveway. While Solace Studio is accessed by a three step entry, we have a ramp which is suitable for power wheelchairs which we set up for guests in need of such assistance. Our flower and vegetable gardens are available for strolling through and are also on level ground but which do not have paved pathways.

Jane spent the first 40 years of her professional visual arts career in print media, working through design studios and corporate design firms. Today, she applies that design expertise to a more personal artistic focus—expressing gratitude for the beauty and blessings of everyday life.

Guided by faith and inspired by the nature and wildlife surrounding her 15 wooded acres, Jane creates assemblages that reflect her daily experiences and emotions. Through her work, she invites viewers to pause, reflect, and appreciate the wonder in the world around them.

My artist demonstration showcases a meticulous and meditative process of creating word assemblages. Using old books sourced from antique shops and bookstores, the artist carefully cuts and collects words that support a chosen concept. Each word is precisely placed with an X-Acto knife, beginning with a central word or verse, allowing the composition to evolve organically. Every piece is unique, inspired by the artist’s surroundings and deep sense of gratitude for the beauty of nature.

Fiber, Painting

vbassoc@gmail.com

Donna sees creativity as both a philosophy and an innate drive, shaping her lifelong journey as an artist. Deeply connected to color, line, and the fluidity of the visual world, she explores the essence of her subjects through landscapes and abstraction. Influenced by calligraphy, Japanese prints, and a sensitivity to harmonic structure in music, her work reflects both intellect and emotion. Constantly evolving, she embraces experimentation across mediums, using art to distill complexity, evoke meaning, and spark dialogue. Through her work, Donna seeks to open minds and hearts to new ways of seeing and understanding.

During the tour, Donna will be demonstrating work across three studios:

  • Fiber Studio – Preparing fabric and hand-weaving a 3" rug without a loom, showcasing garment deconstruction, fabric strip preparation, and the weaving process.
  • Painting Studio – Working on a 34"x24" abstracted landscape watercolor, discussing large-format watercolor challenges and the abstraction process.
  • Mosaics Studio – Demonstrating the use of recycled art glass and creating hand-painted polymer clay tesserae for mosaics.

There is three car lot next to the studio with an accessible garage studio entrance, also an 1/8 mile lane which has been used for parking during previous events. The painting studio is accessible by a path and a 3 step deck entrance. I will have a painting project in the garage studio to accommodate any one who may have issues with the 3 steps.

As a self-taught woodworker I've been woodworking off and on for 50 years. I was a mail carrier in Madison for six years and then I was an IT professional for the State of Wisconsin for 27 years. I am a veteran. I exhibited at Duluth's Bayfront Art Festival in August of 2024 and August of 2025.

I have all the basic woodworking power and hand tools. No CNC. I can demonstrate how a wood strip cutting board is created. Or a rolling pin. Or a spindle vase. Or other.

Plenty of street parking; however, not wheelchair accessible.
