blacksmith8131@gmail.com

Bob has been a self-employed craftsman in metal and wood for over 50 years, specializing in architectural projects for architects and homeowners. After selling his business in 2021, he shifted his focus to creating functional and decorative pieces, including wooden bowls, rustic furniture, whirligigs, weathervanes, and sculptures.

Throughout his career, Bob has been guided by influential mentors such as Harry Nohr, Francis Whitaker, Otto Gust, and Al Felly, who shaped his technical expertise and business acumen. Now, he shares his knowledge with the next generation of craftspeople.

Inspired by the simplicity and utility of everyday objects, Bob values craftsmanship that invites daily use. When exceptional wood comes his way, he transforms it into sculptural works. Residing in the Driftless Area, he draws inspiration from the region’s natural beauty and abundant local timber.

Bob looks forward to connecting with visitors at the 2024 Spring Art Tour.

During the tour, Bob will be showing step by step samples of wood selection, preparation and finishing of utilitarian bowls.

Stefanie creates functional ceramics that blend simple beauty with purpose. Inspired by childhood visits to her grandparents’ farm and her deep connection to nature, she crafts each piece with intention, ensuring it feels unique and special.

Rather than following a production model, Stefanie approaches her work with curiosity and joy, allowing each pot to emerge as a discovery of form and function. Her pottery reflects a love for everyday objects that are both useful and artful.

During the tour, Stefanie will spend time discussing about the process of pottery making, from wheel throwing to hand building and firing. She hopes to welcome you to my studio on our hilltop in the country.

Park on grass and walk a short distance to the studio where there are two steps up into the gallery/studio.
