Our History
In the Summer of 2006, several established Mount Horeb artists gathered to discuss the prospects for creating a Tour event. Interest grew and a new arts organization, the Mount Horeb Area Arts Association, was formed and incorporated in February of 2007.
By word of mouth the list of interested artists grew and the Spring Art Tour, an annual open studios event, was created and launched in June of 2007. This event combines the work of professional artists against the backdrop of the Driftless Region of western Dane County. The inaugural launching of the Tour was a huge success and enthusiasm for the event continues to grow.

The MHAAA Mission: the specific purpose of this Organization is to receive, acquire, hold, manage, administer and expend property and funds for charitable and public purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, providing continuing education Art Scholarships for graduating senior students in the area of the MHAAA sponsored annual Spring Art Tour.  All projects are focused on enhancing public awareness of and participation in the arts in the greater Mount Horeb Area (which includes a 20 mile radius around Mount Horeb).
